Summary
Transdisciplinarity offers a new perspective on nature and reality by going beyond individual disciplines and incorporating a transhistorical horizon. In this study, we focus on the intersection of space and time. This approach is applied to Choroní, one of the most beautiful towns on the central coast of Venezuela and a product of the syncretism of Indigenous, European, and African cultures, where traces of these cultures have been left over time. Choroní is also home to the richest biodiversity in Venezuela’s first national park, Henri Pittier National Park, and in whose way of life biology, ecology, anthropology, geography, history converge, to form a unique and authentic way of life. The goal of this investigation was to discover the way of life of Choroní’s inhabitants (Dasein) in its cultural transdisciplinarity and syncretism through a kaleidoscopic lens (Kalo-eido means ‘beautiful image’). Additionally, within the freedom allowed by complexity, an own methodological path was elaborated with a Complex and Holistic Vision, with a Qualitative Approach, using as methods Hermeneutic Phenomenology, Hypothetic-deductive Techniques, and Ethnomethodology in a complementarity of moments. Significant people such as the Director of the Museum of Anthropology and History of Maracay, the Chronicler of Aragua, the Living Cultural Heritage, the Social Fighter and the Teacher of Choroní, contributed with their experiences through semi-structured interviews, likewise; For the quantitative moment, the survey was applied to ten (10) natives of the town through a Lickert Attitudes Questionnaire, in addition, direct observation with anecdotal records was also used, we proceeded to categorize, structure, triangulate, and contrast for later theorizing glimpsing an episteme called “Caleidoscosmos”, and in the end, unraveling a geohistorical observation with satellite images.
